Sound Stages Radio and Noir Dame Productions celebrate Audio Drama Day on October 30-31 with two marathons of scary and silly audio drama.
Starting at 7 p.m. Friday, October 30, Noir Dame Radio presents a 1988 documentary "The Making of War of the Worlds", featuring some of the last interviews conducted with original producer John Houseman and writer Howard Koch, followed by the original broadcast of War of the Worlds from 1938.
Next, classic radio Halloween episodes from shows such as Father Knows Best continue all night and through October 31 until 7 p.m., when a horror marathon begins that includes such terrifying gems as Suspense: The House in Cypress Canyon.
Finally, beginning at 7 p.m. October 31, Sound Stages' The Martian Room will play a marathon of original horror audio drama from around the world.
Audio Drama Day was first celebrated on October 30th, 2013 -- the 75th anniversary of Orson Welles' War of the Worlds -- and honors audio drama in all its forms: new, old, scary, funny, serious, silly, classic and modern.
Listen and discover, or reintroduce yourself, to the joys, thrills and swoons of audio drama!
